Tuesday

I haven't been updating much. Things around here have been on the overwhelming side. A short recap:

1. Pesach is coming. I have still not ordered cat food. The back bedroom is clean and our bedroom is mostly done. Someone is coming to help me clean for a few hours on Sunday and Tuesday; I hope to get the kitchen turned over Tuesday night. Wednesday we are getting a visit from Grandma E and Grandpa M, so that will be a nice recovery time. And we'll have two good reasons to eat out.

2. I had a root canal on Wednesday. It was, of course, horrible, but it could have been a lot worse, and most important, my face feels better. No trigeminal neuralgia for me, thanks. It looks as though the insurance will end up covering about 75% of it, so it should be more like $500 than $2,000. Much better. In the next month: root canal follow-up visits #2 and 3.

3. My first day back at work is two weeks from today. I am okay about this--the telecommuting takes away about 80% of the stress.

4. And the 800-lb gorilla in the room is the fact that my husband's contract has not yet been renewed for next year, and may not be renewed at all. He's also applied for two other positions. We should hear about all three by erev Pesach. Some days I am calm about this. Some days I am not.

We are praying for you and your husband. Glad the tooth is better! I have had a few of those. Ugh.

Fingers crossed, and "thumbs still pulled" - hoping for the gorilla to go away with happy news soon.

Glad the root canal did help. Yeay!

Is it important to order cat food before Pesach specifically, or is it only b/c you're about to run out?

Hugs from me.

Ooh, glad the root canal was helpful and not terribly painful (all things considered). And we're praying for a quick resolution to all the up-in-the-air-edness.

Yasmin, see this:
Cat Food Post
Basically, she needs special cat food for Pesach, since most kinds of cat food are not okay for her to even own on Pesach.

My mother's solution to this when I was a kid and we had a cat was to move all the cat food to the porch and "give" it to the (non-Jewish) neighbor, who would help feed that cat that week. But that only works with an outdoor cat.

Oh, and Uberimma, glad you are pain free.

The erev Pesach deadline is good and bad. nothing hanging over you for Pesach, but on the other hand, you can't just lock the worry away with the chametz now and think, "we'll deal with this after Pesach," so this week has that much more stress.

Everything is for a purpose, and it will eventually work out, but ooh, the stress while you wait for the pieces to fall into place! Hatzlacha with everything.
